The Nittaiji Temple (日泰寺), lit. Japan-Thailand Temple, in the northeastern part of Nagoya was established in 1904 and rebuilt in 1984 as a repository for a Thai-style golden image of Buddha and Buddhist relics present by the King Chulalongkorn of Siam in 1900. The Temple is maintained by various sects of Buddhism as an international, non-sectarian temple.
